Welcome to the CS Olympiad Qualifier! This fast-paced and challenging competition will give you the opportunity to hone your critical thinking, teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills by developing a proposal to address and solve a climate-related problem!
During the qualifier, you may compete as an individual or in teams of two. You/your team may choose one of three problem statements to respond to. In order to help you prepare, we will provide the overarching topics 10 days before the event, but the exact problem statement is only revealed at the start of the actual qualifier event.
You then have 3 hours to research and write responses to questions related to the problem statement. ClimateScience will score each team's solution and at the end of the month, we will determine who moves onto the Semi-Finals!
Qualifiers will determine who will make it to the Semi-Finals - only the top 5% of teams are selected! Winning semi-finals could land you an invitation to the Finals in Glasgow, UK during the UN Climate Summit and the opportunity to win a $5000 (1st place), $3000 (2nd place) or $2000 (3rd place) prize!
